Hertz Australia marketing campaign targeting business and leisure travellers

  • Written by ICON International Communications

Melbourne, Australia – 18 July 2016
– Hertz Australia has launched a new marketing campaign targeting business and leisure travellers to promote its global loyalty programme Gold Plus Rewards. Running throughout July and August across digital, social and outdoor, the campaign leverages the classic Aussie adage ‘That’s Gold’ to convey the programme’s benefits.

Gold Plus Rewards is a points-based loyalty programme that can be redeemed globally across the Hertz network. Member benefits include earning points for free rental days, skipping the queue and complimentary upgrades. In conjunction with the new ‘That’s Gold’ campaign, members who join before 30 August 2016 and complete a paid rental within a month of joining will be rewarded with 550 bonus points  - enough for a Free Weekend Rental Day.

Damien Shaw, Country Manager, Hertz Australia said: “Hertz Gold Plus Rewards is an industry-leading loyalty programme that offers a number of tangible benefits to Australian travellers. ‘That’s Gold’ is the perfect platform for us to communicate these benefits to renters.”

More about Gold Plus Rewards

Gold Plus Rewards allows members to easily achieve and retain status across three tiers in Australia: Gold, Five Star and President’s Circle.

Gold

Entry-level members of the program can fast track their pick-up and drop-off experience at dedicated Hertz Gold Plus Rewards counters. Every US dollar spent with Hertz or its equivalent in a country’s local currency earns one Gold point.

Five Star

Customers qualify for this tier after seven rentals in a calendar year, or spending the equivalent of US$1,500+ in the same period. Customers will receive free upgrades to the next highest type of rental car, subject to availability and not beyond a ‘Full Size’ vehicle. Customers will also receive 10% more points with Hertz.

President’s Circle Status

Rewarded to customers after twenty rentals in a calendar year, or an annual spend of US$4,000. The President’s Circle comes with a 25% point bonus, along with access to President’s Circle counters. One class car upgrades are guaranteed and remain capped at ‘Full Size’ vehicles.
