Online Retailer - Where the future meets retail

  • Written by Michelle Simmonds

Hosted on 20-21 July at the Royal Hall of Industries and Hordern Pavillion, this year’s Online Retailer Conference & Expo will see some exciting new additions to its line-up.

This year Online Retailer will launch a partnership with Remodista and their global  Women2Watch  in Retail Disruption Program

Thanks to this partnership, the Online Retailer event will offer Australian female Retail leaders the opportunity to be globally recognised for their success. Remodista's annual list of Women2Watch celebrates women who are leading the way in online and brick-and-mortar retailing, experimenting with new ways to solve problems in operations, marketing, commerce, supply chain, logistics and globalization. The 2017 Women2Watch list will be announced at the end of this year.

“We’re thrilled to be expanding the Women2Watch program to include Australian leaders. There is great innovation happening in the country and we can’t wait to share Australia's insights with a global audience,” says Kelly Stickel, Founder and CEO of Remodista.

Online Retailer Sydney is the largest and most trusted technology-driven retail event in Australia, having seen 2,500 people through its doors last year. Remodista provides a global community for professionals to collaborate on innovative Retail and Technology solutions.

“We are excited to bring a new channel for global connection and recognition to Australian Retailers through the partnership with Remodista and the Women2Watch Program.  It will certainly elevate the event to even greater achievement heights.” says Online Retailer Event Director Alice Kuepper.

This year’s event will also see Online Retailer and NORA partner on the eCommerce expedition, designed to provide an opportunity for enthusiastic retailers and vendors to meet the founders and executives of innovative retailer organisations on their own turf. Here they will see successful brands in action and meet with senior executives who will present their past and current challenges and how they got to where they are today.

Guests will experience a day-long expedition visiting two incredibly successful retail businesses in Sydney. These include Mon Purse and Disrupt Sports on the 19th of July, kicking off the 8th annual Online Retailer Conference and Expo with a deep dive into the hot topic of personalised and customised product retailing.

Leveraging their combined industry network, Online Retailer and NORA are partnering on this event series to allow for more retailers and industry representatives to access the benefits of the tours.

NORA Chairman Paul Greenber says, “NORA is deeply supportive of events like Online Retailer, which is the catalyst for all areas of retail coming together in one sizeable and dynamic event. The eCommerce Expedition brings to life all those themes and insights of the conference at successful retailers’ facilities. A great combination.”

Alice Kuepper says, “The partnership with NORA on the eCommerce expeditions will greatly broaden the opportunity to learn from other successful businesses and build relationships in the industry.”

The Online Retailer Exhibition (open to the public) will also see over 100 solution providers on the show floor, while the Conference (ticketed) will feature over 70 expert speakers and five international specialists, including Brian Spaly (TrunkClub CEO & Co-Founder) and  Scott Emmons (Head of Innovation Lab, Neiman Marcus). The  highly-esteemed line up of retail specialists also includes speakers from successful brands such as Myer, Cotton On Group, Williams-Sonoma Australia, MECCA Brands, Harris Farm and LUSH Cosmetics, to name a few, sharing their own experiences and insights.
