Yogyakarta

 

This is the most amazing city in Indonesia and one of the most interesting places to visit in Indonesia. It is also the heartland of exhibitions of art and batik; drama, performances of music, puppetry and dance abound. Yogyakarta is also an ideal starting point to visit other Indonesia attractions including the temples of Borobudur and Prambanan. The locals are also friendly and very welcoming.

 

Komodo Islands

 

A trip to Indonesia would be incomplete without visiting the Komodo Islands. This is one of those tourists’ attractions that you must see. A visit to this place is like taking a tour in “heaven” and you can be certain that you wouldn’t wish to leave. These islands are quite, few people live around, and that is a good thing because there is no traffic. It is also important to note that the pollution level is extremely low. The Komodo Islands is definitely the right place to know the culture and history of the many ethnic groups that exists in Indonesia.

 

Bandung volcanoes

 

Visiting the volcanoes and craters is one of the most amazing things to do in Indonesia. Tangkuban Perahu, approximately 30 km north of Bandung is the largest crater of an existing volcano that erupted in 1969. It’s believed that one can still be able to see smoke coming from this volcano and even smell the sulphur gases. The most interesting thing about this crater is that you can be able to walk around it and get the splendid view of it.

 

Borobudur

 

Build in the ninth century; Borobudur is the largest Buddhist monument in the world. This monument is situated in an outstanding setting of hills covered in palm trees and rice fields swept by the wind. It is also important to note that Borobudur is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The best time to view this Monument is at the morning when the sun is rising.

 

Bali

 

The first thing that comes to mind is the tropical paradise known for its beautiful beaches and amazing weather. Bali attractions include alluring mix of beaches, temples, volcanoes, cultural wealth, stunning scenery and amazing art. Bali is truly attractive and many people have left promising to come back again. Ubud, straddling the foothills is home to various Bali’s rich heritage. Several art galleries, workshops, museums and the most exceptional architecture can be found here. Tirta Empul, a temple that is believed to have been built in AD960 is located here.
